RAISING TINY HUMANS
His defiant laugh bellows as he twists his body and avoids me, making the most mundane tasks impossible. I resist the urge to laugh and pounce after him, vowing to conquer his rebellion. He squeals in delight, eyes wide in exhilaration .
Out and about. He breaks away from my hand, fresh eyes on the world, he begs to discover wonders at a macro level. I fain enthusiasm. To him it is strange, it is new.
Raising tiny people can be a roller coaster. We love and give them we all that we have, a flicker of our own reflections needing, pushing, wanting and loving just as much in return.
